Update
Wow, again time has just flown and I have been so bad about blogging, We have been pretty busy here though
If you have not figured it out, Alexandrea is going to be a big sister. I am now 15 weeks, hopefully here in a few weeks we will get to know what we are having. We are truly excited about this new little one even though it wa a complete suprise to us! We are also nervous and scared since Alexandrea ended up coming 7 weeks early but we also have our faith that we can carry full term and have a healthy little one. We do not care what we have , we just want a healthy baby. So far the pregnancy has gone fairly smoothly other than daily all day sickness. Our newest little one is due in Feb 2011.
On friday Aug 6, 2010, Alexandrea had surgery to close the asd (atrail septal deftct) The hole ended up larger than they though it was. In her echos before surgery, they guessed it was around 7-8 mm, once they got in there, they discovered it to be at 11 mm and place a 12 mm stent (titanium mesh plug). They decided to go ahead and close it using tee cath procedure as she just is not growing like they hope she would. It seems even on or off a feeding tube at high calories she just does not gain. So with the surgery being done we are hoping for better weight gain. She is now weighing in at around 16lbs 4 oz.
Her feet are def growing though, she has gone from a size 2 to a size 4 in a matter of about 2 months. She is walking everywhere and there is not stoping her now, After her surgery, she has had so much more energy, it is truly amazing, so we have already had some good come out of her surgery.

Wildlife Safari
Wow!!! I can't believe it is the middle of July already. We have been so busy lately . Alexandrea's big brother flew in from Oklahoma to spend part of his summer here with us. We are all having a good time. Alexandrea is loving her big brother and is hilarious at times with him. On his first day here she kept saying hi and bye, it was pretty cute.
A you can see above, she is pretty proud of herself, She is finally walking and taking up to about 10 steps independently at 20 months. We are so excited to see this change in her. She is still pretty tiny though and is not quite 16 lbs.
We recently (well in June) did go to Portland for a few days, We met with the genetic dr, the gi and were also seen by the eye Dr. All of her appts went as well as could be expected, We really did not learn anything knew but came away that what we are doing for her to gain wait is what we need to do, so we just have to keep it up.

She also has recently had her first Popsicle. She thought it was pretty good.

Today, we went on an adventure to Wildlife Safari. It is a awesome drive though animal park. They have over 550 animals there, from Lions, tigers and bears, yaks, buffalo, rhinos and many many more. You drive though this park, some animals are behind fences but other animals can walk up to your car. Its kinda like Jurassic Park but different too. You just can't get out of you car.
When we were in Portland, her Auntie Karen showed her how to play with the measuring cups and put them on her head, well she discovered my drawer and as soon as she saw the measuring cups, they went immediately on the floor and then to her head. it was pretty cute.

We still are having feeding issues but is slowly starting to eat a few more things here and there at times. her weight gain has kinda been at a stand still or so it seems and weighs in at 15 lbs.

17 months
This post is a few is a few days late but lil miss Alexandrea is now 17 months old.
On Sunday April 4th we ended up at her dr's office , where she was diagnosed with rsv.
She did have the rsv shots too, but does not prevent it. It is rare that they get it , but when they receive the shots it can help lessen the the symptoms.
She felt pretty lousy and did not want to eat and did loose some weight, arrg . This is the hardest part, we work so hard to get her to eat and gainwhat little she does for her to loose it so quickly. When she did eat, she had a hard time becuase she was coughing so bad that it came right back up. Our battle with the feeding tube was horrible too, as again she would just cough and gag and throw it up. It was not fun. After a few days she was on the mend and feeling much better .
This morning , I was feeling in her mouth and 3 molars have cut through with 1 more coming.
We keep hoping that once she gets her teeth , that this will help with eating.
She has been doing a little better over the past few days and has finally let me spoon feed her again (hsd refused a spoon since december), but only a few bites, so this is encouraging. She is also starting to eat a few other things to besides just puffs such as yogurt, cottage cheese and shreeded cheese. Her new favorite this are vegie chip straws.
Most of the time though her favorite thing to do is feed the dog.
Her weight gain seems to be at at stand still but now that she is better , and has cut most of her molars , now just maybe she will gain weight.
She still is not walking independently, she loves to walk around though holding onto something like her doll stroller, or the coffee table. I do not think it will be too much longer though. Over this last week she has been much more brave too and has discovered that she can stand in her crib and let go. She is also standing for a few seconds.

Easter
Yesterday, Alexandrea was in her first contest. It is called the baby blossum/bud . There were over 200 babies who completed and about 8 catagories. We entered Alexandrea im the bluest eyes. Alexandrea did not win, but there were so many beautiful babies. Our lil miss was in a cute little sailer dress.
It was taking so long, and we has a funeral to go to, so we ended up leaving early.

She always has cough due to her reflux, but saturday she had more of a cough but by sat night, you could tell she was not feeling well.
On Easter morn we stayed home from church due to our little lady. We, did get her in her dress but you could tel she just did not feel well.
